Stranded With The Grumpy Mermaid

I haven't touched the ocean in five years. Now I'm stranded with the one man who makes me want to risk my heart—and dive back in.

 

All I brought to the AETHER telescope inauguration was a career-making talk, a blazer that says take me seriously, and a strict policy against fraternizing with men.

Then a storm takes our boat down, and I wash up on a deserted island with the one man I absolutely should not want: my boss.

Dr. Rafael Vasquez is tall, brilliant, and criminally cheerful. Famous astronomer. Baker of department-wide muffins. Maker of terrible puns even when we're hungry, exhausted, and waiting for rescue.

Somehow, he finds fresh water like the forest owes him a favor.

I haven't shifted into my mermaid form or entered the ocean in five years. I've built a perfectly respectable human life around avoiding both, and falling for a relentlessly sunny man who sees straight through my defenses was definitely not part of the plan.

But deserted islands have a way of making rules feel less important.

Especially when we're sharing one tiny cottage. One bed. His warmth. His laughter. And far too many nights beneath the stars.

The trouble is, eventually we'll be rescued.

And back in the real world, Rafael is still my boss, my career is still hanging in the balance, and falling for him could complicate everything I've worked for.
